Yoga teacher training in Bushwick!

You don't have to want to become a teacher to do a teacher training in Yoga. I did mine just wanted to get more out of yoga. However, it does get addictive. I didn't intend to teach at all...and soon after completing the training...people were asking me to teach them! With that said...its the type of experience that will take you anywhere and everywhere. Jai has a really great teacher training coming up in Sept! I may not have done my 200 hr there but I may as well have -been studying with Ella for the last 3 years and have learned so much from her!

Thinking of doing more about the Yoga in your life?

I never thought I would teach Yoga. I did a teacher training for the sole purpose of being able to teach myself Yoga. I wanted to find more of what I liked in Yoga and reconcile my issues with it. Also to deepen my practice physically and gain some understanding about certain poses. I did all of that and more. Now to tell you about Jai Yoga Arts, the place where I teach Yoga. It is a really awesome community. One of the main purposes of the studio is to do just that...build community. Ella is an amazing teacher and mentor. She has a way of teaching Yoga that makes it accessible to everyone. Beginners and long time practitioners. Jai is such an awesome place to teach Yoga but also to take Yoga classes. Everyone in the community is warm and friendly. The best part of class, having tea together afterwards. You really get to know the people at the studio and they all get to know each other. Jai is really such a true manifestation of the idea of Yoga as "union".

Thinking of doing a Teacher Training? 200hrs in Bushwick!

Though I began practicing Yoga many years ago...I was never really a big "Yogi". I like Yoga for exercise and then saw the benefits of getting out of my head and relaxing. Then I began my love hate relationship with Yoga. I know, what's there to hate? I ended up in classes with a string of not so great teachers...and then also teachers I didn't mesh well with. At a certain point it became increasingly difficult to find a good consistent practice. Then my friend got really into Yoga and became a teacher. She really changed my view on things a lot...she still does! She helped me into my first headstand, she taught me to remember all the benefits of Yoga and why I even started practicing. I saw the many positive things it did for her and it pushed me to do a teacher training. Now, I didn't think I'd become a teacher really. I decided to do it in order to deepen my practice and to kind of decide if I could see the good in the Yoga or if I'd still write the whole idea off as culty BS. Yes I still think there is a lot of culty BS but there is a lot of good Yoga stuff out there!

In conclusion, if you're thinking about doing a teacher training to become a teacher, do it! If you really want to deepen your practice or get a better understanding of Yoga and how it can work for you...consider a training! Jai Yoga Arts is having an info session on their 200 hr trainings that are coming up!
