Muay Thai and Shopping.

My weekend kicked off with Friday Night Fights all Muay Thai event at the Hall at St. Paul's 60th and Columbus. This was a great night since many of the fights were evenly matched and FNF rarely has all Muay Thai events. There were fighters from different so many different gyms...Sitan, Evolution Muay Thai, Fairtex, Renzo Gracie, 5 points...Pictures my brother took...

And Saturday was a Muay Thai training day followed by...SHOPPING! Here are some lovely finds for the weekend...

Vitamin D, please.

Why it needs to be Spring in NYC, FAST...I am completely consumed by nonsense. Here is a list of the nonsense: For the Love of Ray J, RuPaul's Drag Race, I Love Money 2, The City (its such a thorn in my NYer side at the same time), The Celebrity Apprentice (even as it is 2hrs long!), Kelis and her baby bump, Amber Rose and her second skin red pants, Britney and her hoo hoo at her concert and any other celebrity crap I can sink my teeth into. Its all obscenely interesting to me right now. But what I really should do is go outside and sit under a tree...so PLEASE PTB, can you make it a lil more sunny from now on? This chinita needs her vitimin D!

On an
other note, Tomorrow Powerhouse in Brooklyn is hosting a forum between graffiti writers and VS members...or former members...or whatever. Somehow this makes me feel all cheetoes to the max but I guess its all a part of history and the first time for many things sound and feel cheesey. Info for the event is here.

Hello Kitty, you're everywhere!

What is it about the Celebrity Apprentice that it needs to be a 2 hour SHOW? Is Joan Rivers not the awesomest despite her crazy looking face?! The other day I went to Flushing and decided to go shopping at Hong Kong Supermarket. Here is where I discovered Hello Kitty as a cookie. Its not really surprising they have Hello Kitty everything but what I found surprising was how good they tasted, all kinds of buttery goodness!

Shroom...shroom...shroom!

Been going through my old drawings...well not that old but from '04. I thought my veggie/mushroom study was kind of quirky.

A Facelift After 50 Years: Barbie Is Not Perfect?

I'm sure we've all heard that Barbie is celebrating her 50th Anniversary. Tonight, Sidebar is hosting a Barbie Pageant...Although I'm not sure how people are supposed to realistically achieve the Barbie figure without removing some ribs. Amanda Lepore would surely win this pageant! Today, her facelift will be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair and participating retailers will be selling the doll this week at the 1959 price of $3!

Oh and check this out...a 2.1m tall Barbie cake in Sydney, Australia...I've always wanted a Barbie cake for my bday...well you know with a punk rock Barbie...

Dear Spring, Are you really here?

My cousin is obsessed with Hello Kitty. I mean, so am I! Aren't all of us Asian girls big on the Hello-Kitty-lovin'? Well, decided to get in on the Hello Kitty MAC madness and she gave me these cutie-kins. We both declared that the lipgloss smells like Hello Kitty...whatever that means.

And lookie, where does one find Nemo but in our box of Fruit Loops!

Yummy Reeses cupcake from Crumbs that I was snacking on last night as I watched old episodes of Buffy...still got half of it left for tonight.

Tees for Commitment Phobics!

I normally shun commitment phobics in the dating world, however feeling unable to commit to labels, feelings and other things...hmmm I can relate to that. Well my dear friend from elementary school, YES, elementary school...is one big ISH. She is SO cheeky and SO sassy...She is also co-producer of a new fabulous-ISH t-shirt line. I know new t-shirt lines are a dime a dozen but she's got something for everyone whether you're cougar-ish, sweet-ish, smart-ish or maybe you're just Jewish...that's a more commital ISH though. So go and find you're ISH! Here are my fav's:

Mr. Clean jokes, anyone?

The economic climate is shitty. People talk about it everyday...on TV, the radio, in the goddamn gym locker room. No, really can we all shaddap? But the upside of this shitty time is that its forcing artists to be more creative and to work outside of what they're used to. That being said one of my favorite photographers (Seth Kushner) has directed his second music video, for Q*Ball. A bald white guy with an earring who somehow has a non-threatening look about him {atleast to this particular minority.} This video and song make me feel all U-two-y circa 1995. OH look there's a guy wearing a MR. Bungle shirt! While artists are reinventing themselves, I'm drawing alphabets on Wholefoods shopping bags. Well, go figure!

My New Loves.

Dear Loverflies,
These are my favorite shoes...I haven't seen anyone wear Melissa shoes in the US yet! Well except, yours truly. I heard they were selling them some place in the LES and at Opening Ceremony last year but I never actually saw them. I also heard they had a sample sale in Dec which I sadly missed out on. Maybe some ladies will be donning them this spring. They haven't officially hit the US yet, but I have my own connections...here are some of the ones I'm looking to snag. HRMM...the Vivienne Westwoods are a little more unattainable it seems. Maybe I'll have to go to Brazil to get them!

The skinny on these lovlies is that they are ECO-Friendly, green, vegan and hypo-allergenic. OH and made of the lovliest most comfortable plastic called melflex. Melissa is super PC as they are nice to their employees and recycle their overstock to make more lovely, lovely plastic shoes.

Best,
E.$.

P.S. I love you!

P.S.S.Sneakercon was a bust...so I heard...
